Our platform is built on three pillars: personal growth through imaginative exercises, community building, and gameplay. While your involvement with each of these pillars is required to some degree, you can choose how much to pursue any one direction.

No matter which direction you chose to emphasize, there are messages, quests, and opportunities designed to provide balance with the other pillars. Though our platform is based on the assumption that some kind of non-material realm exists, Modern Masters will never say or imply that we hold privileged access to the truth or to spiritual enlightenment. While we offer a unique magical system, it reflects only one path. Our goal is to empower you to find truth for yourself, and we provide a platform to assist you in your search. Your journey moves at a pace specific to you, and challenges leading to self-mastery are dynamically provided based on your readiness and acceptance.

Individual and Group Play

Our creative team draws inspiration from movies, books, games, and art projects. Modern Masters incorporates elements from a large range of adventure and role-playing games from Dungeons and Dragons to World of Warcraft. These include extensive character creation, reward mechanics, and questing. Lessons from virtual worlds such as Second Life show up as online meeting spaces and collaborative dynamics. Eve Online shows how to build communities around a marketplace of ideas and how to create an alternative currency. Alternate-reality games (ARGs) like The Tension Experience and Jejune Institute exemplify storylines that lead to real-world experiences. Simulation and tactical games like The Sims, Starcraft and Civilization provide mechanics for developing strategic thinking and challenge players to find creative solutions to problems. We’ve taken great care to weave all these elements into the Modern Masters experience.

Community Driven Evolution

The participants of Modern Masters not only create real change for themselves and their communities but can be collaborators in the platform as a whole. In fact, the system is designed to evolve with the input of our membership based on established models from open-source knowledge projects, such as Wikipedia and Debian. Other modes of collaboration may include creative writing, developing lore, art and graphic design, puzzle-crafting, and more. Modern Masters is a platform built for and by our users. We encourage members to propose creative ways to expand our mission and reach our goals.

We’re giving up our access to meaningful lives and authentic social interactions. We want to help people find this meaning again and fulfill their life’s purpose. Hidden History and Science

Too often our thoughts and beliefs are formed by those in power who run massive propaganda machines like the mainstream media. We’re beginning to discover that science and our academic institutions are not the bastions of truth they make themselves out to be. Significant credible research into phenomena such as UFOs, free energy, consciousness, healing, prayer and ESP have been suppressed by those in power. We know now that valuable beliefs and practices of indigenous peoples have been discredited, leading to the loss of our mystical nature. We want to help humanity reconnect to that lost magic in themselves, in nature, and in the spiritual world.

Our platform seeks to integrate the power of scientific methods and individual experience with the mystery and magic of the unseen world, allowing members to challenge their paradigms and reach their own conclusions.

Through our work, we seek to provide substantial benefits to individuals, communities, and our global society. We believe active, responsible stewardship of our environment is at the core of providing these services.

Complementary to this structural framework are certain bylaws and regulations that bind us to uphold the practices of transparency, regular examination of the power structure—including improvement when determined appropriate by our community, open-source collaboration, and equal access and rights for all active members in good standing.

We believe the most effective way of doing this is to educate individuals, provide meaningful experiences that bring magic, beauty, and wonder into the world.
